It costs the same as the split-seat ABS version of the bike

Quick News Highlights:

  • Hero Xtreme 125R single-piece seat variant launched

  • Has been priced at Rs 1,00,100 (ex-showroom) – same as the ABS variant

  • It remains mechanically unchanged

Hero MotoCorp has launched the Hero Xtreme 125R single-piece seat variant in India. It has been priced at Rs 1,00,100 (ex-showroom), which is the same as the split-seat ABS variant of the bike.

Design

The design of the Xtreme 125R features a sharp, aggressive styling that draws inspiration from Hero’s larger Xtreme models. The bike’s angular tank extensions, slim tail section, and stubby exhaust all contribute to its sporty look. It is available in a total of three colour options: Cobalt Blue, Firestorm Red, and Stallion Black.

Engine

The Hero Xtreme 125 is powered by a 124.7cc, air-cooled single-cylinder engine. This engine produces 11.55PS at 8,250 rpm, 10.5Nm at 6,500 rpm, and is paired to a five-speed gearbox.

Underpinnings

The Hero 125R has a diamond-type frame and a box-section swingarm. Suspension wise, it gets a 37mm telescopic fork and a monoshock – both tuned by Showa. The base model gets a 240mm front disc with CBS (Combined Braking System), the split-seat and this new single-piece seat ABS versions have a 276mm disc brake with single-channel ABS – while the rear gets a 130mm drum brake across all variants. It has a 794mm seat height, ground clearance of 180mm, and a kerb weight of 136kg. Expect the seat height for the single-piece seat version to be the same, just the seat profile will be different.

Features

The Xtreme 125 is equipped with LED lighting all around, and a negatively-lit LCD console that displays information such as speed, fuel level, gear position, and trip details. That said, there is no Bluetooth connectivity even in the top-end model.

Rivals

In the competitive 125cc sporty commuter bike segment, the Hero Xtreme 125R faces competition from motorcycles like the TVS Raider 125, Honda SP125, Bajaj Pulsar N125, and the Bajaj Pulsar NS125.

BikeDekho Says

It is good that Hero offers the choice of either a single-piece seat or a split-seat: both at the same price point. That said, we are yet to see if the seat height changes. If the pillion seat height is the same as the split seat setup, then it may not be all that practical as the pillion will still have to take some effort getting on the bike. That said, we will reserve our final verdict until we get the new variant and test it out ourselves.
