Aprilia has launched the Tuono 457 in India at Rs 3.95 lakh (ex-showroom) and can be booked for an amount of Rs 10,000. The Tuono is the streetfighter version of the RS 457 and offers a more upright seating position. Test rides and deliveries will start from first week of March 2025, at select Aprilia dealerships across India.
Design
Being a naked sportbike, the Tuono 457 gets a more comfortable and relaxed riding posture as compared to the RS 457. It gets a single-piece handlebar which is closer to the rider, in place of the clip-on handlebars, and also slightly forward set footpegs in comparison to the RS. The bike is available in two colour options: Piranha Red and Puma Grey.
Engine
The Tuono is powered by the same 457cc, parallel-twin cylinder, liquid-cooled engine as the RS 457, which produces 47.55PS and 43.5Nm. It is paired to a six-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch.
Features
The bike features a 5-inch TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, call and SMS alerts. It also gets LED lighting all around, switchable traction control, and three riding modes: Eco, Sport, and Rain. Aprilia offers a bi-directional quickshifter as an optional accessory as well.
Underpinnings
Suspension wise, the motorcycle comes with an inverted fork and a pre-load adjustable monoshock. Braking is handled by a 320mm front and a 230mm rear disc, with dual-channel ABS. The bike rides on a 110-section front and a 150-section rear tyre setup with 17-inch alloy wheels at both ends. It gets a similar split seat setup and tail section as the RS 457.
BikeDekho Says
The Tuono 457 is for those who want the performance of the RS 457, but without the aggressive and committed riding position. It is more comfortable and a more practical option for daily city commuting and even for highway, touring usage. It is the newest entrant in the 300-400cc streetfighter segment and rivals bikes such as the KTM Duke 390, the Yamaha MT-03, the TVS Apache RTR 310, and the BMW G 310 R.
