The 2024 version of the Versys 650 is still on sale, new variant costs Rs 16,000 more
Kawasaki has launched the 2025 Versys 650 in India at a price of Rs 7,93,000 (ex-showroom Delhi). It is available alongside the 2024 version, and costs Rs 16,000 more.
It gets a new Metallic Matte Graphenesteel Grey paint scheme which suits the adventure tourer. Unlike the 2024 version, there’s more grey than green in the new model. The motorcycle remains unchanged mechanically, it gets the same 649cc parallel-twin, liquid-cooled motor which makes 67PS at 8,500rpm and 61Nm at 7000rpm. This engine has been praised for its good low-end torque, good refinement and acceleration, along with well-controlled heat management. These qualities coupled with the comfortable riding posture and the large 21-litre fuel tank capacity make the Versys 650 a great motorcycle for touring.
It uses a diamond type frame along with 41mm inverted fork (adjustable rebound and preload) and rear monoshock with preload adjustability. It gets 17-inch alloy wheels at both ends with a 120 section front and 160 section rear tyre. The motorcycle also gets a 300mm twin petal disc at the front and a 250mm rear petal disc brake.
The Versys 650 gets LED lights all around along with a 4.3-inch TFT display which shows all the necessary information, and supports smartphone connectivity as well. For better wind protection the Versys 650 gets 4-position adjustability for the windscreen visor. Other than these, the motorcycle also gets safety features like dual channel ABS and 2 modes for traction control.
BikeDekho Says
For a price hike of Rs 16,000 over the 2024 variant, the new Versys 650 doesn’t really offer anything extra. Kawasaki bikes are known for their flashy green colour schemes, unlike the 2025 Versys. However, if you’re in the market for a Versys 650, you’d be glad to know that Kawasaki offers the 2024 version with a discount of Rs 20,000 over its ex-showroom price, valid until May 31, 2025. That means, you’ll be able to get your Versys for Rs 7,57,000, which is a whole Rs 36,000 more affordable than the 2025 model. Apart from the colour scheme, you’re not really missing out on anything if you buy the 2024 model, so it’s a completely win-win situation. The Versys 650 is also much more affordable than its rivals, the Triumph Tiger Sport 660 and the Honda XL750 Transalp. That said, the Transalp is capable of both off-road and tarmac riding.
