It’s been a pretty big week for Call of Duty, what with the return of Verdansk in Warzone and the beginning of Black Ops 6 Season 3. While the former is a free-to-play game anyone can jump into, the premium price point of BO6 may have stopped many of you from getting involved in it. However, for the next few days, there is a Black Ops 6 free trial that will let you access pretty much all of its multiplayer content and all five of its round-based Zombies maps for absolutely nothing.
Activision recently opened Black Ops 6’s doors to everyone on the first day of Season 3, but that was only for 24 hours and was there mainly to keep Warzone players occupied while there was downtime before the big Verdansk update. Now though, a much longer free trial has begun for the FPS game, and it’s very unrestrictive in what it lets you play.
All of Black Ops 6’s core 6v6 multiplayer maps will be available for you to play – including the newly added Season 3 maps Nomad, Barrage, and the remake of Firing Range – across more than ten game modes. From classics like Team Deathmatch to chaotic modes like Kill Order, there’s plenty on offer. Of course, the full arsenal of Black Ops 6 weapons is on offer, and if you’re an existing Warzone player, chances are you’ve already got plenty of them leveled up with the top attachments unlocked. If you need a hand knowing what to run, though, head to our best Black Ops 6 loadouts guide.
This is also the perfect opportunity for fans of the best co-op games to also get some cost-free time playing Black Ops 6’s excellent Zombies offering. With the addition of Shattered Veil in Season 3, there are now five round-based maps for you to play through. While mowing down zombies and Pack-A-Punching weapons is fun enough, there are of course some great secrets to uncover in each map. If you need a hand discovering them, our guide to all the Black Ops 6 easter eggs will have you covered.
I’ve racked up plenty of hours in Bo6 since it’s launched, and I think it’s the best mainline Call of Duty game since 2018’s Black Ops 4. While the ‘Warzone era’ of COD has produced a few stinkers, Black Ops 6 is a true return to form.
The new free trial for Call of Duty Black Ops 6 is live right now and wraps up on Friday, April 11 at 10am PDT / 1pm EDT / 6pm BST / 7pm CEST.
