Piaggio Group, which is Aprilia India’s parent company, has filed a new patent design for the Tuono 457 in India, ahead of its launch. The bike is likely to be launched next week on February 17, 2025. The bike was also showcased at EICMA, in November 2024.
What does the Aprilia Tuono 457 get?
The Aprilia Tuono 457 is the smallest capacity naked motorcycle from the Italian manufacturer. It comes with an aggressive front-end design and features sculpted bodywork. It will be available in two dual-tone colour options: white/silver and red/black.
The Tuono 457 will be powered by the same 457cc,liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine as the Aprilia RS 457, which produces a peak output of 47.55PS and 43.5Nm. It is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The Aprilia Tuono 457 will be equipped with the same 5-inch TFT display as the Aprilia RS 457. It also gets smartphone connectivity features via Bluetooth for turn-by-turn navigation and call and SMS alerts. The naked bike also gets 3 riding modes: Eco, Sport and Rain. Other rider aid features include switchable traction control and switchable rear ABS.
In terms of underpinnings, the Tuono 457 gets the same perimeter frame as the RS 457, but provides a more relaxed body posture, thanks to the easy-to-reach handlebar and mid-set footpegs. It is equipped with an inverted fork and a monoshock, both pre-load adjustable. For braking, it uses a 320mm front disc and a 230mm disc at the rear, with dual-channel ABS as standard. The naked bike has 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped with tubeless tyres, on both ends.
Expected Price & Rivals
The Aprilia Tuono 457 is likely to be priced below the Aprilia Tuono 457 (Rs 4,10,000), around the Rs 4 lakh (ex-showroom) mark. Once launched, it will directly rival the KTM 390 Duke (Rs 3,12,461) and the Yamaha MT-03 (Rs 3,49,900). All prices ex-showroom.
