Bristol in the UK is shortly to be down to a single Apple Store, as its first one built in the area is closing down because of retail redevelopment.

First opened in 2008 as Apple Cabot Circus, the store was renamed Apple Bristol in 2021. It was then robbed in 2022, though presumably not in protest.

Apple Bristol is an old-style small store, the sort that Apple has been radically redeveloping. But this time, as spotted by MacRumors, redevelopment is causing its permanent closure on August 9, 2025, because the whole shopping center is to be reworked.

“At Apple, we’re always focused on providing an exceptional experience for all of our customers,” said Apple in a statement. “Due to the redevelopment plans at Cabot Circus Shopping Centre, which include the closure of the section where our store is located, Apple Bristol will close on August 9, 2025.”

We’ve loved serving the Bristol community for over 15 years, and our valued team members will continue their roles at Apple,” continued the statement.

Strictly speaking, the closure means that Apple users in Bristol will have only the Apple Cribbs Causeway store. That’s around nine miles away by car.

In practice, though, there is also Apple Southgate. That’s in Bath, a different city, but only 13 miles from Apple Bristol.

Separately, Apple is rumored to be planning a store in the UK’s Oxford. The company has also confirmed that it is moving Apple Trafford Center, Manchester, to larger premises.
