Amazon expands eero Wi-Fi 7 offering in Australia TechTricks365

This week, Amazon announced the expansion of its eero mesh Wi-Fi system lineup in Australia by introducing the eero 7 and eero Pro 7. These new devices bring the latest Wi-Fi 7 standard to Australian consumers, offering multi-gigabit speeds at more accessible price points with the eero 7, and premium performance for bandwidth-intensive networks with the eero Pro 7. According to Jacqueline Lipman, APAC Managing Director for eero, this expansion aims to meet the diverse connectivity needs of Australian households, from supporting home offices and streaming across multiple devices to maintaining connections with family overseas.

Both the eero 7 and eero Pro 7 leverage eero’s proprietary TrueMesh, TrueRoam, and TrueChannel networking technologies, combined with the advanced capabilities of Wi-Fi 7, to enhance overall Wi-Fi performance, improve reliability, and reduce latency in increasingly complex network environments. The eero 7 is a dual-band router capable of delivering wireless speeds up to 1.8 Gbps and wired speeds up to 2.3 Gbps through its dual 2.5 GbE ports. Designed for everyday internet activities, a single eero 7 unit covers up to 190 square metres, with a three-pack extending coverage to 560 square metres.

For users with more demanding needs, the eero Pro 7 is a tri-band system offering wireless speeds up to 3.9 Gbps and wired speeds up to 4.7 Gbps via its two 5 GbE ports. This premium offering is ideal for households with multiple users streaming, gaming, and working from home simultaneously, and can connect hundreds of devices. A single eero Pro 7 unit also covers up to 190 square metres and supports up to 200 devices, while a three-pack covers up to 560 square metres and over 600 devices. The eero Pro 7 features a silent, fanless design to limit dust build-up and maintain the device for longer.

Both new eero models are designed for ease of use, with simple setup and network management through the eero app. They incorporate exclusive eero technologies that automatically optimise network performance. Security is a priority, with both systems supporting WPA3 encryption and receiving automatic software updates. The Wi-Fi 7 portfolio is backward compatible with all previous eero generations. The eero 7 and Pro 7 also function as smart home hubs for Matter, Thread, and Zigbee devices. An optional eero Plus subscription offers advanced security features, parental controls, internet backup, and access to security apps. A three-year warranty and free customer support backs both devices.

The eero 7 is priced at AU$299.99 for a single unit and AU$649.99 for a three-pack, while the eero Pro 7 is available for AU$529.99 (one-pack) and AU$1,199.99 (three-pack). Both are available now through Amazon.com.au, JB HiFi, and Officeworks. The eero Plus subscription costs AU$159.99 annually or AU$15.99 monthly.
