The Alpine A290, the sporty 5-seater hot-hatch and the brand’s first electric vehicle, is starting to appear on European roads.
Football legend Zinédine Zidane, the Alpine ambassador and sponsor of its equal opportunities programmes, was one of the first to take to the streets of Madrid in his A290 GT Performance.
The first deliveries of the A290 began at the end of December 2024 in France and continue throughout Europe. Alpine A290 was recently voted Car of the Year.
Zidane, who used to be the manager of Real Madrid, and was professional footballer and three-time Ballon d’Or winner, is now an ambassador and sponsor of Alpine’s equal opportunities programmes.
Zidane says: “Thanks to my role as ambassador, I’ve had the chance to spend some time with the whole Alpine electric programme team, which is really exciting.
“And here I am, already driving around Madrid in this little electric A290, which is fantastic! It’s quite incredible, easy to drive and at the same time sporty; a real pleasure.”
