Here are the latest details:
Dive into today’s new gameplay trailer to tour Abyssus‘ fascinating brinepunk setting, a fiction subgenre where technology is fueled by the power of the sea. Amass powerful gear and godly powers while blasting through forces prowling a forgotten civilization, brimming both with secrets and unknown dangers of the deep:
Whether fighting alone or with a crew, Brinehunters can look forward to wielding a brand-new, electrifying weapon in the upcoming demo known as the Tesla Gun, a weapon that delivers devastating bursts of damage to tightly packed enemies. Its true potential is unleashed through secondary mods, enabling powerful charged attacks. Along with a more refined UI, making for a sharper experience, players can also explore the all-new Gardens biome, a lush yet haunting domain where aquatic guardians stand ready to defend the ruins of their lost civilization from intruders.
The design and emotive heights of Abyssus‘ cooperative combat are inspired in part by DoubleMoose’s frequent sessions of playing Deep Rock Galactic, Warhammer: Vermintide II, and Gunfire Reborn together as a studio.
In Abyssus, Brinehunters are sent to scour the ocean floor to investigate a powerful electromagnetic source, a journey leading the crew to an ancient, sunken city. Explore the ruins of this forgotten civilization to discover its secrets while fighting through corrupted hordes of enemies with weapons made of ancient tech that deliver responsive feedback, making each shot feel precise and impactful.
However, it’s not all doom and danger. Once you’re finished with your mission, the only way to truly celebrate is with a sea shanty with your teammates. With just the press of a hotkey, you’ll start to sing, “Iron, Steam & Brine!” Anyone who wants to join in can do so—a sea shanty only improves with each voice added to your chorus.
Amid high-octane multiplayer action, the Brinehunters must utilize the vast weapon modifications and ancient artifacts to adjust their playstyle to stay alive and return to the surface. Explorers can enter the abyss solo or venture in with up to three friends in cooperative play. The rewarding progression loop will satisfy veterans of the genre while remaining accessible to newcomers, both of whom will find themselves sinking countless hours into obtaining every mod, artifact, and ability hidden throughout the fascinating and dangerous civilization.
