In a recent interview with a media house, Bajaj’s Executive Director Rakesh Sharma said, “we’ve got a good pipeline based on new products, both in the 125cc and the more sporty 150cc, 160cc plus segments”. Here’s our analysis on what these upcoming Bajaj bikes can be:
New Bajaj 125cc Bike:
While Bajaj has not confirmed the details yet, we feel the upcoming Bajaj bike in the 125cc segment could be the Bajaj Platina 125. As per the sales data from SIAM (Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers), Bajaj sold around 63,698 units, which is extremely small compared to 4,38,740 units of the Platina sold in the last financial year (April 2024 to March 2025).
This proves that the Platina range is a lot more popular, and Bajaj also mentioned that it aims to increase its market share in the 125cc segment, and this is logically possible primarily through affordable 125cc bikes. To this end, launching a Platina 125 makes a lot of sense.
Bajaj’s most affordable 125cc bike, the Pulsar 125 costs Rs 85,178 (ex-showroom Delhi). On the other hand, the best-selling 125cc bike in India, the Honda Shine 125 starts from Rs 85,021. If Bajaj manages to price the Platina 125 at around Rs 80,000 (ex-showroom), it will help the brand undercut the Shine, while retaining the value-for-money aspect that the Platina has been known for. This new model could join Bajaj’s existing 125cc lineup, which includes the Pulsar 125, NS125, N125, and the Freedom 125 CNG.
New Bajaj 150-160cc Bike:
Going by what Rakesh reportedly said, it is likely that the upcoming bike in this category could be the Bajaj Pulsar NS150. Bajaj already has the 125cc, 150cc, 160cc and 250cc bikes in the N family. Whereas, the NS family has 125cc, 160cc, 200cc and 400cc bikes. This leaves with just one possibility – the Pulsar NS150.
Expect the design to be similar to the Bajaj Pulsar NS125, complete with an air-cooled 150cc engine. As for the pricing, it could cost around Rs 5,000 more than the Pulsar N150, which retails at Rs 1,17,677 (ex-showroom Delhi).
Launch Timeline Of New Bajaj Bikes:
According to Rakesh Sharma, the new 125cc bike (likely the Platina 125) will be launched by the end of the current financial year or within the first week of March 2026. After that, the company plans to introduce the new 150cc or 160cc motorcycle (could be the Pulsar NS150). This, in our opinion, is likely to happen around June 2026.
By having multiple bikes in the same displacement category, Bajaj aims to offer the maximum level of flexibility as customers can choose their right motorcycle based on their needs and budget.
