Honda Shine 125 retains its crown this month too
The 125cc category in India has recently seen a boom as it offers a balance of both mileage and performance. They slot right between fuel efficient but not-so-powerful 100cc bikes and the powerful but not-so-efficient 150cc motorcycles. . Honda Shine has been the best-selling 125cc bike in India for quite some time now. In March 2025, Honda sold 1,35,383 units of the Shine 125 which does show a small decline of 2.74% in its Month-On-Month (MoM) sales. While the Year-On-Year sales have grown by 12.77% over the sales from March 2024.
Honda updated the Shine 125 with an OBD-2B compliant engine in February 2025, and in the upcoming festive season (Akshaya Tritiya in April end), the MoM sales are expected to go up.

The Bajaj Pulsar 125cc range is quite popular for its affordability, decent performance and mileage. Bajaj Auto sold 67,044 baby Pulsars in the month of March, showing a 24.69% decline in MoM sales figures. The YoY sales figures too have dwindled down by 7.81% when compared to March 2024.
Despite this drop in sales, the 125cc Bajaj Pulsars still retain the second position as it offers multiple motorcycles in the same category. The Pulsar 125 has the classic Pulsar design whereas the N125 looks completely different and will appeal to the younger audience. On the other hand, the Pulsar NS125 looks like a smaller sibling of the NS200, and is ideal for those who seek performance at an affordable price tag.

The TVS Raider 125, pretty much established the 125cc sporty-commuter category in India. TVS sold 30,988 units of the Raider 125 in March 2025, a 10.15% increase in MoM sales when compared with February 2025. The YoY sales though, with newfound competition, have been on a decline with an 18.50% decrease in sales when compared with sales figures from March 2024.

Hero Xtreme 125R is becoming popular with the younger buyers with its sporty looks, tractable engine, and excellent mileage. The bike’s price tag is affordable too and it sells quite well, considering the short duration it has been on sale compared to its competition.
Hero sold 23,370 units of the Xtreme 125R in March 2025, a significant increase of 44.45% over the MoM sales from February 2025. The YoY sales have been looking good too and have nearly doubled with 94.58% increase when compared to sales from March 2024.
Additionally, Hero also recently launched the single-piece seat variant of the Xtreme 125R at the same price point as the split seat variant. This should help in garnering better sales in the following months too.

The Super Splendor is designed to be a no-nonsense 125cc commuter. It seems like it lives up to the ‘Splendor’ name tag well as it sold 20,945 units in March 2025, a significant increase of 49.90% in its MoM sales while the yearly sales too have seen consistent growth of 50.20% increase over last year’s sales numbers from March 2024. Hero launched the OBD-2B-compliant version of the Super Splendor in April 2025, so expect the sales in the following months to increase even further.
