What’s Unchanged
Apart from the emissions compliance, the Super Splendor Xtec remains unchanged. The motorcycle retains its minimalistic yet stylish looks along with the same paint schemes as before: Matt Nexus Blue, Matt Grey, Black, and Candy Blazing Red. It gets a steel tubular frame with a conventional telescopic fork and preload-adjustable twin rear shock absorbers. The Drum variant gets a 130mm drum at both ends while the disc variant gets a 240mm front disc and 130mm drum; CBS (combined braking system) being standard for both variants. It runs on 18-inch alloy wheels with tubeless 80-section front and 90-section rear tyres.
The Super Splendor Xtec has i3s tech, which is an engine stop-start system that switches the engine off while idling for long in traffic. It gets an all-LED headlight, and a digital console which shows all the necessary information. It supports smartphone connectivity for SMS & call alerts. Along with this, the motorcycle also gets a USB charger for conveniently charging a mobile phone while riding.
BikeDekho Says
The Hero Super Splendor has always been the choice of those who want a more powerful motorcycle than the Splendor Plus, but with Hero’s reliability and fuel efficiency. The Xtec version takes that approach a step further by offering many more useful features as well. That said, the slight price increase is alright considering the OBD-2B compliance needs some more sensors to keep the engine emissions cleaner.
