BREAKING: 2025 Hero Splendor Plus OBD-2B Launched In India, All Variants Get Price Hike | BikeDekho TechTricks365

The best-selling bike in India gets greener, with a slight price hike

Quick Highlight:

  • Hero Splendor Plus gets updated for 2025

  • Gets an OBD-2B compliant engine

  • Design remains unchanged, no changes in output figures either

Hero MotoCorp has launched the 2025 Splendor Plus range in India at a starting price of Rs 78,926 (ex-showroom Delhi). This time too, Hero has kept the design and features of its best selling motorcycle unchanged, but it now complies to the latest emission norms.

What’s New

For 2025, Hero has updated the Splendor Plus with an OBD-2B compliant tune for the same 97.2cc single-cylinder engine. The output figures remain unchanged as it still makes 7.91PS at 8000rpm and 8.05Nm at 6000rpm.

All the variants are now more expensive than their non-OBD-2B counterparts by Rs 1,750. The premium isn’t large enough to make you think twice about your purchase, though. That said, Hero has also listed non-OBD-2B variants on their website, but they are likely to be discontinued soon.

What’s Unchanged

Hero has thankfully kept the design of the Splendor Plus unchanged as its target audience love its familiar minimalistic looks. It gets a double cradle frame along with conventional telescopic fork and twin rear shock absorbers with preload adjustability. The Splendor Plus Xtec gets a disc variant with a 240mm front disc brake while all the other variants get a 130mm drum brake at both ends along with CBS (combined braking system). The Splendor Plus runs on 18-inch alloy wheels at both front and rear with 80-section  tubeless tyres.

In terms of features the Splendor Plus is a pretty basic motorcycle with Hero’s i3S (engine stop start feature) tech to boast about. It automatically switches off the engine while idling for long in traffic, thereby reducing fuel consumption. However the Xtec and Xtec 2.0 variant gets the i3S tech along with a fully digital console with smartphone connectivity and SMS/Call alerts. The Xtec 2.0 also gets an LED headlight rather than the halogen ones on other Splendor variants.

BikeDekho Says

The Hero Splendor Plus has always been one of the highest selling motorcycles in the country, and Hero has done just about enough to keep it going in a market with more stringent emission norms. Apart from the engine, the company has not meddled with any other aspects as Hero knows things are fine with the Splendor, and its sales figures are a proof for that as well. For those who want a bit more tech in the Splendor can anyway go for the more expensive Xtec variants, so Hero has all of its bases covered in that sense.
