Ferrari has always been very protective of its intellectual property, and rightfully so. That’s why, historically, there haven’t been many Ferrari models made into Hot Wheels. But with a new collaboration deal inked between the companies, we now have the first scale-model Ferraris from Mattel in nearly 10 years.
Ferrari and Hot Wheels announced their newly minted partnership at the automaker’s headquarters in Maranello last week. The deal includes two new sets: The Ferrari Heritage Set and the Ferrari Premium Series, each with a garage’s worth of scale-model cars to choose from.

The Heritage Set honors Ferrari’s on-track success with the Le Mans-winning 312P parked alongside the modern 499P Modificata in a nifty branded box. Although the 499P Modificata never raced at Le Mans, the life-sized version of the track-only hypercar was built to celebrate the brand’s winning history.
The Premium Series has more modern, road-going Ferrari models to choose from. According to Ferrari, these models are a step up from the rest of the Hot Wheels line and, “Check the balance between kid playability and collector appeal,” the company told Car and Driver.
That Premium Series includes the individual 499P Modificata, the F50, and the LeFerrari. The crown jewel of the set is a 250 GTO riding atop a Fiat 642 RN2 Bartoletti Transporter. Bellissimo! Collectors can also get their hands on non-premium versions of the 365 GTB4 Competizione, F40 Competizione, and SF90 Stradale.

But wait, there’s a second SF90—and this one’s remote-controlled. The SF90 R/C car is the same 1:64 scale as the rest of the vehicles in the set, but this one has a battery powertrain that moves it forward, backward, left, and right. It even works on the current Hot Wheels track.
Here’s what the entire set of cars looks like with their prices:
- Ferrari 312P & 499P Modificata: $100
- Ferrari 250 GTO & Fiat 642 RN2 Bartoletti Transporter: $16.99
- Ferrari 499P Modificata: $6.49
- Ferrari F50: $6.49
- Ferrari LaFerrari: $6.49
- Ferrari 365 GTB4 Competizione: $1.25
- Ferrari F40 Competizione: $1.25
- Ferrar SF90 Stradale: $1.25
- Ferrari SF90 Stradale Assetto Fiorano RC: $19.99
If you want to get your hands on any of this Ferrari and Hot Wheels goodness, the Heritage Set is now available for pre-order on MattelCreations.com. The Premium 499P Modificata hits retailers in July, the LaFerrari in September, the F50 in November, and the 250 GTO with the transporter goes on sale in October. The rest of the die-cast models, including the SF90 R/C car, will be on shelves beginning in June.
