Raptee.HV Receives ARAI Certification For CCS2 DC fast Charging. Gets Over 8,000 Bookings Since Launch. Deliveries To Begin Sometime In 2025 | BikeDekho TechTricks365

It becomes the first electric two-wheeler manufacturer to receive ARAI certification for CCS2 DC fast-charging support

Quick News Highlights:

  • Raptee.HV receives ARAI certification for CCS2 fast charging support

  • Also gets over 8,000 bookings for the T30 electric bike

  • Deliveries to begin sometime this year

Raptee.HV, a Chennai based electric two-wheeler startup, has received certification from Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) for its first high voltage electric bike, the T30. This certification makes the T30 the first Indian two-wheeler to support CCS2 DC fast charging, which is normally used in electric cars. It allows the bike to be charged at any of the 22,000+ public DC fast-charging stations across India.

First-Year Sales Target and Bookings

Since its launch back in October 2024, Raptee has secured over 8,000 bookings for the T30. The company originally planned to begin deliveries in January 2025. They have now confirmed that deliveries will commence sometime in the first quarter of the 2025-26 financial year (some time between April-June 2025). And, they will start from Chennai and Bengaluru. Further expansion is planned in a phased manner.

Pricing

The Raptee T30 is priced at Rs 2.39 lakh (ex-showroom). The manufacturer is also offering an eight year or 80,000km warranty for the battery and a three year or 30,000km warranty for the vehicle as standard.

Battery And Motor

Raptee claims the T30 offers performance comparable to a 300cc petrol powered bike. The motor makes 22kW and 70Nm (peak), and is powered by a 5.4kWh battery. It has a top speed of 135kmph and acceleration from 0 to 60kmph takes 3.5 seconds (all claimed figures). It has a claimed IDC (Indian Driving Cycle) range of 200km on a full charge.

Charging Capabilities

With the CCS2 DC fast-charging compatibility, the motorcycle can charge from 20 to 80 percent in 36 minutes using a fast charger, while a standard charger takes about an hour for the same. Additionally, the T30 comes with an onboard charger and a portable external charging cable; though no times provided yet.

Industry Impact

It is the only Indian electric two-wheeler manufacturer to design and develop a patented high-voltage powertrain – a technology widely used in electric cars. The company has filed 156 patents related to its powertrain and motorcycle design. It has also received funding from ARAI and the Ministry of Heavy Industries (MHI) for the same.

Future Plans

The brand’s manufacturing facility in Manapakkam, Chennai, has an annual production capacity of 100,000 units. Additionally, the company has been allocated 40 acres of land in Cheyyar, Tamil Nadu for future expansion. The startup, which last raised funding in October 2023, is currently in discussions to raise USD19 million (Rs 165 crore) to support its expansion plans.

BikeDekho Says

With its segment-first high-voltage powertrain, fast charging capabilities, and competitive pricing, the Raptee.HV T30 has all the potential to disrupt the electric two-wheeler market in India. As deliveries begin in Chennai and Bengaluru in 2025, we will have to wait and see how rapidly the company scales up its dealership reach to make a solid impact when it comes to sales.
