Ultraviolette Automotive’s recently launched Shockwave electric motorcycle has received an overwhelming response, with the company receiving 1,000 bookings within the first 24 hours of its debut. Initially, the company had set an introductory price of Rs 1,49,999 (ex-showroom) for the first 1,000 customers. However due to the strong demand, the company has now extended the introductory pricing to the next 1,000 bookings as well. This means that the first 2,000 buyers can still purchase the Shockwave at Rs 1,49,999 before the price increases to Rs 1,74,999 after the introductory offer ends.

Design

The Ultraviolette Shockwave stands out with its rugged design, a high-beak front, stacked dual-projector LED headlights, and a rally style single-piece seat. It gets two colour options: Cosmic Black and Frost White.

Performance

It is powered by a 10.6kW mid-mounted electric motor and has a 4kWh battery, which provides a claimed IDC (Indian Driving Conditions) range of up to 165km on a single full charge. The bike can accelerate from 0-60 kmph in 2.9 seconds and has a top speed of 120kmph. It is equipped with dual-channel ABS, four traction control modes, and six levels of dynamic regen.

Underpinnings

In terms of suspension, the Shockwave uses a telescopic fork and a monoshock. Braking is handled by a disc brake at both ends. The bike rides on a 19-inch front and a 17-inch rear wire-spoke wheel, fitted with dual-purpose tyres. The bike is part of Ultraviolette’s upcoming L Series of lightweight motorcycles.

Deliveries And Rivals

Deliveries of the bike are expected to begin in the first quarter of 2026. Those interested can secure their booking by paying an amount of Rs 999 online. The Shockwave does not have any direct rivals but its petrol powered alternatives include the Hero XPulse 210 and Kawasaki KLX230.
