Quick News Highlights:

  • The 2025 Vespa scooter range has been launched in India

Vespa has launched its updated 2025 line-up in India with new features, design updates, and performance upgrades. The 2025 Vespa range consists of two core models: standard and S and these models are available with two different engine capacities: 125cc and 150cc. The standard and S differ mainly in terms of headlight design: the former gets the iconic oval shape headlight, while the latter gets a rectangular unit. The Vespa and the Vespa S also get Tech variants which add features like a 5-inch TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity, and keyless ignition. Additionally, Vespa has also introduced two special editions: Oro and Qala.

Pricing

The standard Vespa’s prices start from Rs 1,32,500, while the Vespa S’ prices start from Rs 1,36,000. The Tech variant’s prices start from Rs 1,92,000 lakh and go up to Rs 1,96,000 for the Tech S (all prices ex-showroom).

Engines

All the Vespa models are available with a 125cc engine, single-cylinder engine that produces 9.5PS at 7,100rpm and 10.1Nm at 5,600rpm and also a 150cc engine, single-cylinder engine that delivers 11.4PS at 7,500rpm and 11.66Nm at 6,100rpm. Prices of the 150cc variants are yet to be revealed, but we expect them to follow the same structure as the 125cc variants, with a higher price tag due to the larger capacity engine, which offers a slight bump in performance over the 125. The 150cc variants will be offered in the same colour options and features as the corresponding 125cc models.

Vespa

The standard Vespa is the most affordable variant in the new lineup. This model retains the iconic Vespa design with its signature curvy body, oval headlamp, and monocoque metal frame. The Vespa is available in a total of seven colours: Verde Amabile, Rosso Red, Pearl White, Nero Black, Azzurro Provenza, Blue & Pearl White, and Orange & Pearl White.

Vespa S

The Vespa S is the sportier looking version of the standard Vespa with a rectangular headlight. This variant has more vibrant colour options such as Verde Ambizioso Matte, Pearl White, Nero Black Matte, Giallo Yellow Matte, Arancio Impulsivo, Red & Pearl White, Black & Pearl White, and Oro – a special edition with a gold colour and accents.

Vespa Tech

For those who want more features, the Vespa Tech is the variant to consider. The Tech introduces features such as a 5-inch TFT instrument cluster, Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, music controls, and keyless ignition. This variant is available in three colours: Energico Blue, Grigio Grey, and Qala – a special edition with Mehendi-inspired artwork.

Vespa S Tech

The Vespa S Tech is the top-of-the-line variant in the lineup. It has the same feature set as the Tech, but gets the rectangular headlight instead of the circular one, and two additional colours: Nero Black Matte and Pearl White.

Special Editions

The Oro edition is based on the Vespa S and is a special gold tint colour paying homage to India’s love for gold. Meanwhile, the Qala Edition is based on the Tech variant and stands out with its unique design, showcasing traditional Indian Mehendi art. Both are for those who want an exclusive option and who value artistic expression and traditional culture.

BikeDekho Says

The Italian manufacturer has finally added modern features like a TFT screen, Bluetooth connectivity, and keyless ignition to its retro styled scooters with the updated 2025 lineup. The addition of special editions like the Oro and Qala Edition provides exclusivity for those who want something unique. These updated scooters will be available at authorized dealerships across India from 25 February 2025.

The pricing of all the scooters is on the significantly higher side when compared to other scooters, and does not make sense for the regular scooter buyers in the Indian two-wheeler market, which is highly price sensitive. Vespa scooters have always been more of a status symbol and a fashion and style icon. So, for those who want a premium looking scooter to stand out on the road, there’s nothing like a Vespa in the current market.
