Ola’s Roadster X is the newest entrant in the electric bike space
Ola Electric recently launched the Roadster X, their first electric bike. We compare it against the similarly-priced Revolt RV1 electric bike. Let us take a look:
Design
The Roadster X gets a modern and minimalist design with sharp lines. Meanwhile, the Revolt RV1 has a slightly more conventional, commuter bike styling, and has an overall compact size.
Features
In terms of features, the Ola Roadster gets a 4.3-inch segmented-LCD screen, Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, cruise control, reverse mode, a new ‘brake-by-wire’ system, and single-channel ABS.
The RV1, although simpler, also includes a digital LCD console with essential data like speed, battery status, and range shown on it. It also features call/SMS alerts, music control, and smartphone connectivity. Both get LED lighting all around.
Battery
The Ola offers three battery options: 2.5kWh, 3.5kWh, and 4.5kWh, with IDC claimed ranges of 117km, 159km, and 200km, respectively. The Revolt has two variants. The RV1 comes with a 2.2kWh battery with a claimed range of 100km, while the RV1+ has a 3.24kWh battery with a claimed 160km range.
Motor
The Roadster has a 7kW mid-mounted motor, with top speeds varying from 105kmph to 124kmph depending on the battery variant. The RV1 has a top speed of 75kmph for both variants, which makes it a good city commuter but less suitable for highway usage.
Underpinnings
Both bikes have a dual-cradle frame with a telescopic fork and twin shock absorbers. The Ola gets 17-inch alloy wheels at both ends, a front disc, and rear drum brake. It has a ground clearance of 180mm, seat height of 777mm, and gets a small 3.27-litre storage space.
The Revolt gets disc brakes at both ends, a 17-inch front wheel, and a smaller 16-inch rear. It has a seat height of 790mm, kerb weight of 108kg, and a ground clearance of 165mm.
Price
The Ola Roadster X prices range from Rs 74,999 to Rs 94,999; introductory. After February 11, 2025, the prices will increase by Rs 15,000 across all variants. The Revolt is priced between Rs 84,990 and Rs 99,990 (all prices ex-showroom).

However, the Revolt RV1 is the more affordable option here with a good range for daily commuting, making it a solid choice for city riders.
