The third-generation Jeep Compass has been leaked ahead of its in the not-too-distant future.
Photos of the Compass have appeared on social media platforms. While some have since disappeared, Brazilian publication Quatro Rodas has published a comprehensive set detailing the new car’s exterior and interior.
As per an earlier teaser, the design of the Compass is familiar, but features squarer, more rugged styling details than today’s car.

Up front the Compass retains Jeep’s signature seven-slot grille, although it appears to be completely non-functional. The white vehicle could be the more off-road-capable Trailhawk variant, given it has a different front bumper with more grey plastic and tougher styling.
Around the side we can see the roof and pillars are completely blacked out. The crisp shoulder line drops noticeably to emphasise the rear wheel arch, and give a gentle nod to the styling of the largely unloved first-generation Compass.
At the back, the tail-lights stretch across the entire width of the car, and incorporate an X graphic and illuminated Jeep logo.
Inside, the dashboard features a larger central touchscreen, swathes of stitched leather (or faux leather), chunky metal-style accents, and a large slab of a wood-like substance.
The third-generation Compass leaves behind its Fiat Chrysler roots, and adopts the STLA Medium platform, which also underpins the Peugeot 3008 and 5008, Opel/Vauxhall Grandland, and Citroen C5 Aircross.
It is widely expected to available with a variety of drivetrains, including 48V mild hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and pure electric. The lime green car pictured here has ‘e’ badging, indicating it is a fully electric model.
The platform supports vehicles between 4.3 and 4.9 metres long, wheelbases between 2700mm and 2900mm, and ground clearance up to 220mm.
Electric variants use a 400V architecture, and so far have been offered with single-motor front-wheel drive and dual-motor rear-wheel drive with power ranging from 160kW to 285kW. Batteries range in size up to 98kWh, and provide a range of between 500 and 700km.
The mild hybrid system features a 100kW/230Nm 1.2-litre Miller cycle three-cylinder engine mated to a 21kW/55Nm electric motor located within the six-speed dual-clutch transmission.
Plug-in hybrid models have a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, a 1.6-litre engine paired with an electric motor to produce a total output of 145kW, and a 21kWh battery good for around 85km of emissions-free driving.
Production of the Compass is expected to begin later this year in Melfi, Italy, with North American and Brazilian factories joining the party from next year.
