2026 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1X Debuts as 1,250-HP Hybrid AWD Supercar TechTricks365

In a radical step forward, Chevrolet has unveiled the 2026 Corvette ZR1X, a hybrid all-wheel-drive supercar packing a staggering 1,250 hp. The ZR1X builds on the mid-engine ZR1 by pairing its 5.5L twin-turbo V‑8 (1,064 hp) with a 186-hp front electric motor. Chevrolet calls it the most powerful production Corvette ever.

Powertrain and Performance

Chevrolet

The ZR1X’s LT7 V‑8 and front electric motor together produce 1,250 hp and roughly 970 lb-ft of torque. Power flows through an 8‑speed dual-clutch automatic to the rear wheels, while the electric motor drives the front axle, giving the Corvette true all-wheel-drive traction. Chevrolet engineers optimized the hybrid system (with a 1.9‑kWh battery pack) for higher voltage and energy output than the E-Ray setup. The result is blistering acceleration: Chevy estimates a 0–60 mph time below 2.0 seconds and a quarter-mile in the high 8s.
Advanced Traction and Handling
Chevy’s new Performance Traction Management Pro (PTM Pro) system debuts on the ZR1X. Tuned for the hybrid AWD layout, PTM Pro lets drivers disable stability and traction control while preserving launch control, front-axle brake-pressure preloading, and regenerative brake-torque vectoring.

Brakes and Aerodynamics

Stopping power comes from Chevrolet’s new J59 carbon-ceramic brake package, standard on the ZR1X. The J59 system uses 16.5-inch rotors at all four corners with 10-piston front and 6-piston rear calipers, delivering up to 1.9 g of deceleration from 180–120 mph. Magnetic Ride Control suspension and Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires are standard, but the optional ZTK Performance Package adds firmer springs and Michelin Pilot Cup 2R track tires for even more grip.

For maximum downforce, an optional Carbon Aero package (also offered on the standard ZR1) adds a massive rear wing, front dive planes and underbody strakes, generating roughly 1,200 lb of downforce at speed.

Inside, the ZR1X receives Corvette’s updated 2026 cockpit layout with revised digital screens. Chevrolet has not announced final pricing, but analysts expect a base price around $190,000–$200,000. The company says production will begin in late 2025, with customer deliveries slated for Q4 2025. With its extreme powertrain and track-ready hardware, the Corvette ZR1X cements its role as Chevy’s new flagship hypercar.
