From a fully-faired sportsbike to a retro roadster with a big single, and even a high-performance electric bike, here are your other options
Triumph Motorcycles India recently launched the Scrambler 400 XC At Rs 2,94,147 (ex-showroom Delhi). It is positioned as the more rugged, off-road focused version of the Scrambler 400 X, and offers tubeless spoke wheels. It also comes with several off-road oriented accessories as standard fitment that are otherwise optional on the 400 X. However, if you’re not sure about spending that much on the Scrambler, here are a few alternatives at a similar price that cater to different riding styles and your personal preference:
Royal Enfield Himalayan 450
Price: Rs 2,85,000 to Rs 2,98,000 (ex-showroom Delhi)
The Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 is a proper adventure bike for those who want to tackle challenging terrain, and also for those who are looking to go touring. With its 21-17 inch wheel setup, long-travel suspension at both ends, and 230mm of ground clearance – it’s ready for any rough terrain. It also comes equipped with a generous 17-litre fuel tank, a round TFT console, smartphone connectivity, navigation, and all-LED lights. Notably, Royal Enfield also introduced tubeless spoke wheels for the Himalayan and customers can even purchase them separately for a reasonable price.
KTM 390 Duke
Price: Rs 2,95,000 (ex-showroom Delhi)
The KTM 390 Duke has long been the best performance-oriented streetfighter motorcycle in the 300-400cc segment. With its aggressive styling, sharp handling, and raw (yet reasonably manageable) power delivery, the Duke offers exceptional performance for its price. It is also loaded to the brim with features with a 5-inch TFT console, Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, cruise control, bidirectional quickshifter, cornering ABS, ride modes, and even more. The Duke is the go-to choice for those who are looking for absolute performance in a feature-loaded value-for-money package.
TVS Apache RR 310
Price: Rs 2,77,999 to Rs 2,99,999 (ex-showroom Delhi)
The TVS Apache RR 310 is the only fully-faired sports bike on this list and it offers sharp handling and aggressive styling. With its latest iteration, it offers features including a cornering engine braking control and launch control in addition to the already existing bucket-load of features like riding modes, cornering ABS, quickshifter, adjustable suspension and more. The best bit is that the bike is also fairly civil enough for everyday commutes. If you’re looking for a faired bike that’s loaded with features and can do both office commutes and weekend ghat rides or track days with ease, the Apache RR 310 ticks all the right boxes.
BSA Gold Star 650
Price: Rs 3,09,900 to Rs 3,44,990 (ex-showroom Delhi)
The BSA Gold Star 650 is a throwback to classic British motorcycles with its vintage design but with modern performance. Powered by a 649cc single-cylinder engine with loads of low-end torque, it offers an enjoyable but relaxed riding experience. The Gold Star is a great bike for anyone who wants a simple yet stylish retro motorcycle with decent power and not too many distracting features. It is also the second largest single-cylinder production bike in the world, after the Ducati Hypermotard 698 Mono.
Ultraviolette F77 Superstreet
Price: Rs 2,99,000 (ex-showroom Delhi)
The Ultraviolette F77 Superstreet is a high-performance electric motorcycle that brings futuristic tech and exceptional acceleration to the table.
