2025 Royal Enfield Classic 650: Variants Explained – Differences In Price, Colours, And More | BikeDekho TechTricks365

Even though there’s a fairly considerable price difference between the base and top variant, you’re not really missing out on much

Royal Enfield has launched the much-awaited Classic 650 in India, priced from Rs 3,37,000 to Rs 3,50,000 (both prices ex-showroom, Chennai). The motorcycle blends the Classic’s signature heritage styling with a more powerful 648cc, parallel-twin engine – making it the most powerful Classic ever. It is offered multiple variants, and here is how they differ from each other:

Variants

The recently launched Classic 650 is available in a total of three variants: Hotrod, Classic, and Chrome. And, each variant comes with distinct colour schemes. Here’s a variant and colour wise price list:

Variant

Colour

Price (ex-showroom)

Hotrod

Vallam Red, Bruntingthorpe Blue

Rs 3,37,000

Classic

Teal

Rs 3,41,000

Chrome

Black Chrome

Rs 3,50,000

Colours

Each variant gets distinct shades while maintaining the Classic 650’s retro charm. The base ‘Hotrod’ version gets two colour options; with the Vallam Red having a dark red base paint which almost looks maroon, along with white highlights on the fuel tank and on the side panels. It also gets a neat looking Royal Enfield logo in cursive font. The Bruntingthorpe Blue has a similar layout but with an elegant blue-and-white combination.

Meanwhile, the ‘Classic’ variant offers a striking teal paint job, with a brown coloured seat unique to it. It is also the only variant with a matching teal-coloured frame while the rest of the bikes have their frames finished in black. This colour scheme is a clear throwback to the Classic 500, which came with the same colour scheme when it was first launched. The range-topping Black Chrome variant stands out with a metallic chrome and black finish, ideal for those who want something properly flashy.

Common Components

While the colours set the variants apart, all versions share the same underpinnings, features, and other mechanical components. The 648cc, air-and-oil-cooled, parallel-twin engine produces 47PS, 52.3Nm, and is paired to a six-speed gearbox.

The Classic 650 is built on the same steel tubular spine frame as the Shotgun 650 and Super Meteor 650. It gets a 43mm telescopic fork, twin Showa rear shock absorbers, a 19-inch front and an 18-inch rear wheel. Braking duties are handled by 320mm front and 300mm rear disc brake, with dual-channel ABS. The kerb weight stands at a hefty 243kg, and it has a 14.7-litre fuel tank.

On the technology front, the Classic 650 includes an LED headlight and taillight, an analogue speedometer with a digital inset, adjustable clutch and brake levers, a USB Type-C charging port, and a gear position indicator. Unlike the Classic 350, which offers Tripper Pod (for turn-by-turn navigation) as an optional extra, the Classic 650 gets it as standard fitment across all variants.

BikeDekho Says

The Royal Enfield Classic 650 brings a mix of iconic styling, modern features, and the brand’s time tested 648cc motor to the Classic – finally. The price differences boil down solely to the visuals, so you will not lose out on anything even if you buy the base variant. That said, we wish at least the top-end variant came with spoke wheels with tubeless tyres, just like the Royal Enfield Goan Classic 350. Perhaps, the bikemaker might add this in the future, depending on the demand.
