KTM kicked off the 390 range with the extremely capable 390 Duke. Over the years, the segment grew with several new offerings catering to different genres, and now with the recent launch of the 2025 Duke, 2025 Adventure 390 range as well as the 390 Enduro R this year, the 390 family has become a lot more wholesome as there’s something for almost every kind of rider. Here’s a run-down of the 390 lineup:
2025 KTM 390 Duke:
The KTM Duke 390 is the one that started it all. It’s a light weight naked bike that makes an incredible 46PS while tipping the scales at just 168kg kerb. The motorcycle is compact, fairly comfortable and extremely agile, making it an excellent motorcycle for urban riders. Moreover, the engine is also powerful enough for the highways, so you won’t really feel out of place on weekend rides either. The motorcycle is also loaded with features including riding modes, traction control, launch control, among others. Some of these features are usually found only on premium big bikes.
The KTM 390 Duke’s prices start from Rs 2,95,000 (Ex-showroom Delhi), with the Austrian naked being offered in a single variant and three colour schemes. At this price, it is the most value-for-money streetfighter in its segment, full stop. If your usage is primarily in the city with the occasional weekend rides, the KTM 390 Duke ticks all the right boxes.
2025 KTM RC 390:
The KTM RC 390 is essentially the sportier sibling of the Duke 390, complete with a fully faired design, and an aggressive riding posture with clip-on handlebars and rear-set footpegs. It is meant for those who are looking to learn the technicalities of riding, particularly on a race track. The motorcycle is powerful enough to let you hone your skills, but is also fairly forgiving in case you make mistakes.
While everyday commutes may be difficult due to the committed riding posture, you can adjust the handlebars by 10mm to make the riding stance a little less aggressive. That said, do note that the RC390 has a 24mm taller seat than the Duke, at 824mm. So, shorter riders might have to tip-toe a bit. The bike is priced at Rs 3,22,719 (ex-showroom, Delhi), and is available in two shades.
2025 KTM 390 Adventure Range:
The latest generation KTM 390 Adventure range, consisting of the entry-level 390 Adventure X and the top-of-the-line 390 Adventure is a massive improvement over its predecessor on almost every front. The 2025 model is much more capable both on the highways, and more importantly, on off-road sections.
The engine is based on the Duke 390 but with a different gearing to suit the go-anywhere character of the Adventure. The motorcycle is equipped with long travel suspension, tubeless spoked wheels and gets a lot of rider aids, making it a very capable offroader while being a decent tourer too. The 390 Adventure X, though possessing the same characteristics, is more of a highway tourer than an offroader, thanks to its alloy wheels and non-adjustable suspension.
The 390 Adventure is offered in two colour schemes, and is priced at Rs 3,67,699 (ex-showroom, Delhi), while the 390 Adventure X is priced at Rs 2,91,140 (ex-showroom, Delhi), and is offered in two colour schemes as well. At this price, the 390 Adventure X is the most affordable bike in KTM’s 390 range, ideal for those who commute, and also tour on the highways every now and then. If you don’t mind spending more, and are looking for a more versatile bike that can also handle well off the road, then the 390 Adventure will be the perfect do-it-all bike for you.
2025 KTM 390 Enduro R:
The latest addition to the Austrian bikemaker’s 390 family, the KTM 390 Enduro R, is a bike made for hardcore offroading. It’s a no-compromise machine for trail riding, complete with the adjustable suspension of the 390 Adventure, but in a lighter, much more compact package that will allow you to stand up and ride easily.
That said, its small 9-litre fuel tank limits its range, so it’s more ideal as a secondary bike that’s meant for off-road use only. Note that the seat is also fairly tall, at 860mm. However, it is still more accessible than the version that’s sold abroad (890mm) as KTM wanted to ensure the India-spec bike is suitable for shorter desi riders. The Enduro R is offered in a single colour scheme and is priced at Rs 3,36,500 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
What’s Next From KTM In The 390 Range?
The supermoto of the 390 family, the KTM 390 SMC R, was recently spotted testing in India. The Austrian supermoto will be powered by the same 399cc engine from its other siblings, will get long-travel suspension and 17-inch wheels with road-biased tyres. Supermoto bikes are dirt bikes that are modified to handle the streets, so the 390 SMC R will be a factory-made supermoto that’s ideal for Indian roads. Think of it as a Duke on stilts. It is likely to be launched in the next couple of months, and will also be the cheapest supermoto in the country.
