Kawasaki India has launched the Versys 1100 in India. The bike replaces the previously discontinued Versys 1000 in Kawasaki’s lineup. The bike is available in a single variant and is priced at Rs 12,90,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi). It is available in a single colour scheme: Metallic Matte Graphene Steel Gray / Metallic Diablo Black.
Design:
The Kawasaki Versys 1100 gets an ADV styled, sharp design language with muscular body panels giving it a bulkier look. The bike also gets a graphite themed colour scheme and neon accents on it complimenting the colour. The headlight as well as the taillight look quite aggressive. The bike is equipped with an adjustable windscreen and knuckle guards are available as an accessory.
Engine:
The Kawasaki Versys 1100 is powered by a 1099cc, in-line four cylinder, liquid cooled engine producing 135PS of peak power and 112Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox that comes with an slip-and-assist clutch, with an option to add a bi-directional quickshifter as an accessory.
Underpinnings:
The Versys 1100 gets an aluminium-twin tube frame and sits on 17-inch alloys with a 120-section front and 180-section rear wheel setup with tubeless tyres. The suspension duties are taken care of by a fully adjustable 43mm inverted fork with 150mm of wheel travel and a fully adjustable gas-charged monoshock with 152mm of wheel travel. As for the stopping power, the bike gets a 310mm front disc and a 260mm rear disc brake with dual-channel ABS as standard. The bike gets a seat height of 820mm that is very accessible for a bike of its size along with 150mm of ground clearance. The bike does weigh a bit on the heavier side with a kerb weight of 257kg.
Features:
The Versys 1100 gets an all-LED lighting setup along with a negative LCD instrument cluster displaying readouts of speedometer, odometer, tripmeter, fuel gauge along with all the information about the electronic features and riding aids it gets. The bike gets two power modes along with switchable traction control. The bike also gets an IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit), Cornering management functions, cruise control and Kawasaki’s Ergo-Fit that allows a wide range of riders to adjust the bike to their individual preferences.
Rivals:
The Kawasaki Versys 1100 is all set to rival the BMW M 1000 XR, the Ducati Multistrada V4 and the Harley Davidson Pan America 1250.
