2025 Jawa 42 FJ Spied Without Dual Exhausts – New, More Affordable Variant Of The Bike | BikeDekho TechTricks365

A new, more affordable variant of the bike could be launching soon

Quick News Highlights:

  • 2025 Jawa 42 FJ Spied Testing

  • Spotted without dual exhaust pipes

  • Could launch sometime by festive season this year

The Jawa 42 FJ is the sportier version of the popular Jawa 42, which was launched last year in September. It was recently spotted testing with an underbelly exhaust setup. Known for its distinctive dual exhaust pipes, this is the first time the model has been seen without them.

Dual Exhausts Dropped

The dual exhausts have been a signature styling element for the entire Jawa bike range since their launch. In these latest spy images of the Jawa 42 FJ, however, the exhaust on the left side is completely missing. Even on the right side, there’s no visible exhaust pipe either. This strongly hints at the possibility of an underbelly exhaust in the upcoming variant.

Why The Change?

Several practical and logical reasons support this update. Dropping the dual exhausts will make the FJ lighter, and should also have a positive impact on its handling. Additionally, using a single exhaust as opposed to a twin pipe setup will also help in keeping the costs in check. Expect this variant to be more affordable by around Rs 5,000 over the twin-exhaust version, which costs Rs 2,11,142 for the one with alloy wheels. This would make it the most affordable variant with alloy wheels.

Engine

The bike on sale right now has a 334cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, DOHC engine that makes 29.17PS and 29.62Nm. It comes mated to a six-speed gearbox, and we can expect the upcoming variant to have the same engine and similar output figures.

Underpinnings

The current Jawa FJ is built on a double cradle frame, suspended by a 41mm telescopic fork and 5-step preload-adjustable twin shock absorbers. It has a 320mm front disc and a 240mm rear disc, with dual-channel ABS. It gets an 18-inch front wheel with a 100-section tyre, and 17-inch rear wheel with a 140-section. It has a 790mm seat height, 178mm ground clearance, a 12-litre fuel tank, and a 184kg kerb weight. The new model could be lighter but could also have a slightly lower ground clearance due to the underbelly exhaust.

BikeDekho Says

The recent spy shots suggest that the launch of the 2025 42 FJ variant might not be far away – it could happen around the festive season this year. The shift to an underbelly exhaust setup seems to have been considered to make the bike a little more affordable. Moreover, you don’t really need two exhausts on a motorcycle with a single-cylinder engine.
