Quick News Highlights

  • Honda has launched the 2025 CBR250RR in Japan

  • The bike is offered in two new colours

  • It has remained mechanically unchanged though

Honda has launched the 2025 CBR250RR supersport in Japan. The bike is offered in a single variant and three colour schemes. The Matte Bullet Silver (new) colour is priced at JPY 902,000 (approximately Rs 5.34 lakh) while the Pearl Glare White (new colour) and the Grand Prix Red are priced at JPY 940,500 (approximately Rs 5.56 lakh).

The Matte Bullet Silver colour scheme gets silver coloured body panel with a white underbelly and blue coloured graphic elements complimenting the dark base shade. It gives the bike an aggressive look while drawing very little attention.

The Pearl Glare White colour scheme gets white coloured body panels with purple and red graphic elements. This colour scheme is inspired by the traditional colours of the 1994 Honda CBR250RR.

The CBR250RR is still offered in the MotoGP inspired iconic Grand Prix Red colour scheme. This colour scheme pays homage to the Honda’s racing team. It gives the bike an aggressive look with the tri-coloured graphic elements.

More About the Honda CBR250RR:

The 2025 Honda CBR250RR is powered by a 249.7cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled DOHC engine producing 42.14PS and 25Nm. It comes paired to a 6-speed gearbox with a bi-directional quickshifter and a slip-and-assist clutch.

For its underpinnings, the bike gets 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 110-section front and 140-section rear tubeless tyres. It gets a 41mm Showa SFF-BP inverted fork and a 5-step adjustable monoshock. It has a 310m front and a 240mm rear disc brake with dual-channel ABS as standard. The bike has an accessible seat height of 790mm and weighs 169kg (kerb).

As for the features list, the bike gets an all-LED lighting setup with hazard lights and a LCD instrument cluster displaying essential information. The bike gets ride-by-wire throttle and three riding modes: Comfort, Sport and Sport+.

Is the Honda CBR250RR Coming to India?

The Honda CBR250RR’s main appeal lies in the smooth power delivery of the parallel-twin engine. If you look past the character of the engine, the Indian two-wheeler market offers other bikes that are more powerful while being quite affordable at the same time.

Honda did patent the design of the CBR250RR in India, but it was done mostly to secure the legal rights. Even if Honda brings in the bike in a small batch via the CBU (Completely Built Unit) route, the bike will still be prohibitively expensive for what at the end of the day is still a 250cc bike. Considering all these, Honda is unlikely to launch the CBR250RR in India.
